Socorro Andino Peruano is a Peruvian Mountain Rescue organization dedicated to assisting people who face emergencies or accidents in mountainous or remote areas of Peru. The group is composed of experienced climbers, mountaineers, and rescue experts who are often called upon to provide support during expeditions or natural disasters in the Andean region. Peruvian Mountain Rescue Association, the first private rescue team in Huaraz, was founded on January 2nd, 2018. We function to provide help and relief with accidents occuring within Huascaran National Park “Cordillera Blanca” also in the Cordillera Huayhuash, Huaraz, Ancash – Peru.
We have now grown to include 35 qualified mountain rescue members representing Huaraz, Peru. Our scope of rescue includes the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Huayhuash: these areas are the capital of the adventures, hiking, treks and expeditions in Peru. The main concern of Peruvian Mountain Rescue Association – Socorro Andino Peruano this past year has been one of safety and safety education in all aspects of mountaineering and mountain related sports.

We are striving to improve public safety programs and provide help to public programs with little experience. Considerable concern has been expressed over the caliber of instructors teaching mountaineering in clubs and summer camps, the feeling being that we should be improving our “ability to teach” just as decidedly as we are improving the content of the courses.
We are officially established as a Private Law Corporation. It is run by a headquarters composed of Peruvian mountain guides with a high level of experience in high mountains and certified by IVBV – UIAGM – IFMGA.
We are a private organization dedicated to public service and specialized in search and rescue operations in mountains and difficult access areas.
You are directed to either the Lima,Trujillo, or Chimbote Rescue Air Service – Private helicopter service will be provided by these organizations in emergencies for the fastest evacuation possible.
In Huaraz, Ancash – Peru We do not have aerial rescue services (helicopter), all rescues are made from high mountain areas with porters and horses to be able to mobilize the injured person.

Socorro Andino Peruano, is the Only Rescue Corps with Professional Training, Qualified, Certified and Accredited, to carry out rescues in High Mountains and Wild, Remote and Inaccessible Areas in Peru.
The Asociación de Guías de Montaña del Perú (AGMP) is a professional association of mountain guides in Peru. It aims to promote and ensure high standards in mountain guiding and to support its members through training, certification, and professional development.
As of the latest information, AGMP has around 80 to 100 members, though the exact number can fluctuate as new guides join or current members leave. The association plays a crucial role in setting professional standards and providing a network for guides working in Peru’s challenging and diverse mountainous terrain.

The Socorro Andino Peruano S.A.P. rescue team specializes in search and rescue missions in high mountain areas, rugged terrain, and remote locations, extending its expertise to operations throughout Peru. These missions are closely coordinated with the DEPSAM (High Mountain Rescue Department), with whom they collaborate on complex rescue operations.
As a recognized authority in high mountain rescue, the team is equipped to operate in harsh and inaccessible environments, ensuring an efficient response in emergencies. Their experience and technical skills enable them to reach the most challenging locations, guaranteeing safety in critical interventions.
In the event of accidents in the mountains—particularly in challenging terrains, extreme altitudes, or glaciers above 4,500 meters (14,764 ft) or even on the summit of Nevado Huascarán (6,768 m / 22,205 ft), the highest peak in Peru—Socorro Andino Peruano S.A.P. offers professional search and rescue services, prehospital care, and specialized evacuation.
For assistance, it is essential that the injured individual holds high-risk rescue insurance covering altitudes above 6,000 meters (19,685 ft). We recommend Global Rescue – Medical & Security Evacuation, Field Rescue insurance.
If the individual does not have such insurance, Socorro Andino Peruano S.A.P. requires an initial deposit of 6,500 USD to cover the basic costs of the first hours of operation. This service includes the participation of at least four high mountain rescue guides, along with their support team.
The payment must be made via electronic transfer to the account provided by the administration. After the mission is completed, any additional expenses and fees will be adjusted based on the terrain’s complexity and the location of the incident.
As a professional rescue team in Peru, Socorro Andino Peruano S.A.P. does not provide free rescue services. Confirmation of the bank transfer must be sent to E-mail: billing@socorroandinoperuano.com to validate the request and proceed with the operation.
