Socorro Andino Peruano

Project: Socorro Andino Peruano

The Challenge: Protecting Lives in the Andes

Understanding the need for an organized response to high-altitude mountain risks.

The Cordillera Blanca and Huayhuash are a mountaineering paradise, but their beauty hides real dangers. Every year, dozens of serious—often fatal—accidents occur due to falls, avalanches, altitude sickness, or getting lost. The lack of communication systems and coordinated response exacerbates the situation. The S.A.P. project was created as a professional and sustainable response to this critical issue.

Our Solution: A Comprehensive System

We coordinate resources to ensure an efficient response and strengthen the culture of prevention.

Technical Support

Specialized rescue and professional evacuation.

Logistics Support

Infrastructure, transportation, and equipment for operations.

Technological Support

Satellite internet, geolocation, and search drones.

Financial Support

Permanent funds to cover critical operations.

Action Axes

Our strategy is based on fundamental pillars for lasting change.

  • Emergency Fund: Exclusive financing for rescue operations (helicopters, personnel, equipment).
  • International Training: Continuous training for rescuers and guides following global standards (ICAR, UIAGM).
  • Prevention and Education: Workshops in high-Andean communities, guides, and operators to promote safe practices.
  • Modern Equipment: Acquisition of technical stretchers, drones, defibrillators, and satellite communication systems.
  • Institutional Cooperation: Partnerships with the State (SERNANP, Mountain Police) to build a national response system.

Expected Impact

We aim to transform safety and position Peru as a benchmark.

  • Significant reduction in the number of deaths in the Cordillera Blanca and Huayhuash.
  • Creation of the first mountain safety satellite network in Peru.
  • Increased confidence of tourists and international operators in the safety of our Andes.
  • Positioning Peru as a South American leader in high-altitude mountain rescue.
