🏔️🇷🇺 AlpIndustria Invites Ancash Authorities to International High-Mountain Expedition in Ecuador

The Asociación Socorro Andino Peruano (S.A.P.) reports that it has received a significant Official Invitation Letter from Mountain Club AlpIndustria, a prestigious Russian organization dedicated to the promotion of extreme sports and mountaineering, based in Moscow, Russian Federation.

The invitation is addressed to Mr. Fabián Koki Noriega Brito, Regional Governor of Ancash – Peru, to participate in an international high-mountain expedition in the Republic of Ecuador. The mission will be carried out alongside a group of 10 Russian mountaineers as part of a technical exchange and international cooperation program.

This initiative is conducted on behalf of the President of the Russian Mountaineering Federation, Mr. Andrei Volkov, and carries the institutional backing of Mountain Club AlpIndustria.


🤝 AlpIndustria: International Allies in Mountaineering

Mountain Club AlpIndustria is a renowned interregional organization in Russia focused on the development of mountaineering and adventure sports. It is represented by its president, Mr. Sergei Kovalev, as well as prominent members and instructors including:

🏔️ Preliminary Expedition Program

The expedition is scheduled from December 27, 2025, to January 6, 2026, with the following general itinerary:

  • 12/27/2025: International flight Russia – Ecuador

  • 12/28/2025: Arrival in Quito (2,850 m)

  • 12/29/2025: Colonial Quito City Tour

  • 12/30/2025: Rucu Pichincha Trekking

  • 12/31/2025: Quito – Otavalo Excursion

  • 01/01/2026: Transfer to Cayambe Refuge (4,700 m)

  • 01/02/2026: Nevado Cayambe Summit (5,790 m) – Baños

  • 01/03/2026: Baños de Agua Santa – Free day

  • 01/04/2026: Baños – Chimborazo High Camp (5,300 m)

  • 01/05/2026: Chimborazo Summit (6,268 m) – Return to Quito

  • 01/06/2026: International return flight

This program combines acclimatization, cultural activities, and the ascent of two of Ecuador’s most iconic peaks.


🚁 Objective: High-Mountain Training and Rescue

The core objective of this invitation is to promote the exchange of technical and operational knowledge across diverse mountain terrains, particularly in volcanic environments, which differ significantly from the landscapes of the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Huayhuash in Peru.

The expedition will be carried out in coordination with the rescue teams of the Asociación Socorro Andino Peruano (S.A.P.) and will contribute directly to the organizational capacity for the: “First International Course on High-Mountain Rescue Operations and S.A.R. Helicopter.”
